The most family friendly release of the Christmas period sees Adam Sandler take on the role of Skeeter, an imaginative guy who's asked by his sister (Cox) to look after his niece and nephew whilst she's out of town. Whilst tucking them in at night he concocts an imaginary bedtime story in which he is the hero. However, the kids also pitch in with their own off the wall ideas - like raining gob stoppers. The following day, elements of the story begin to actually happen to Skeeter. Thinking he has the power to mould his own future he begins to tell tales of beautiful women and masses of riches, little realising that it's actually the kids that control what's going on.

This couldn't be more Disney if everyone in the film was wearing a set of Mickey Mouse ears. Sandler plays the same character he always does, so if you can't stand his anarchic approach it's best to steer clear. The fantastical tales do raise smiles but this one is aimed squarely at the kids.
